DUBAI // An 11-year-old boy was raped in a school car park by three men, one of whom a policeman, a court heard yesterday.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance was told that during interrogation, the alleged rapists - an Emirati police officer, AF, 20, and students MY, 19, a Bidoon, and FS, 20, a Somali - told police they had only wanted to teach the boy and his friend not to wander around the streets without adult supervision.

The boy was approached by the three defendants on September 16 last year at Al Muhaisna 4 district in north-western Dubai, the court heard.

In the boy's statement to police, he said the men asked him and his friend to get in the car with them as they were heading towards the victim's house from a grocery store.

"I refused and they insisted so my friend and I started running away," he said.

The men chased them in a Volkswagen Polo and opened the door, knocking the 11-year-old to the floor before snatching him and driving off, records show.

"They drove me towards a deserted area near Emirates Road and took me out of the car where they asked me to strip," he testified.

The boy told prosecutors that when he refused, they forcibly stripped him and started taking pictures of him naked with their phones.

The men then told the victim they were going to take him home, the boy said. However, the policeman AF suggested to the other two that they should rape him. The boy was then taken to a nearby school car park and repeatedly raped by the three men until the early hours of the morning, records show.

The suspects then contacted the boy's friend asking him to meet them to pick him up, records show.

All three have denied raping and kidnapping a minor and the case was adjourned to March 22.
