Abu Dhabi man receives suspended jail term for using policeman brother's ID card
ABU DHABI // A man who used his policemen brother's ID card when he was stopped by traffic officers was today issued a suspended three-month jail term.
Officers realised the ID did not belong to the Emirati SA after checking their records and finding he had faced a number of previous charges.
The man told the Criminal Court he had picked up his brother's ID card by mistake and unwittingly gave it to police.
"This time we will let it go," said Chief Justice Sayed Abul Baseer, "But if you ever come back again it won't be good."
"We have you picture and your name, now we know you very well," he added.
