25 years in jail for Abu Dhabi serial stairwell rapist
ABU DHABI // A man has amassed prison sentences totalling 25 years after being found guilty of four charges of rape, attempted rape and sexual harassment - and there is still another case against him.
The Criminal Court has now ruled in four of the five cases against MA, from Egypt, who would follow women home from hotels before pouncing on them in lifts.
He was sentenced to 10 years for raping one of the women he followed and threatened at knifepoint, and five years for each of the other three women he tried to rape.
These three each managed to escape after screaming and attracting the attention of people nearby.
All his victims were aged between 26 and 30.
A verdict is yet to be issued in the fifth case.
