Two police officers stole from a massage centre after responding to two fake reports lodged by their accomplices, Dubai Criminal Court was told.

According to court records, the four men would work together by selecting a business to rob, then the driver and security guard would report a crime at the scene that the two policemen would respond to. The 22-year-old Emirati and Yemeni policemen would then steal from it.
On September 26, the two accomplices — a 31-year-old Pakistani driver and 36-year-old Bangladeshi security guard — called police to report a drunk man causing a disturbance at the massage centre and a robbery, respectively.
The two policemen responded to the reports and met with their accomplices and employees of the massage centre in Al Barsha. They began searching the area and, during the process, allegedly stole more than Dh9,000 from customers' pockets and wallets.
Two women who worked at the massage centre called police and reported the thefts from customers. During investigations, the corrupt policemen were discovered.
During police questioning, the driver admitted that all four of the defendants had previously met in a restaurant in Al Barsha and become close. He said his share from the theft was Dh500.
"The two policemen told us when to call so they can be on duty and be able to come to the place," said the driver in records
All four were charged with theft. The driver is charged with filing false reports with the police while the three others were charged with aiding and abetting him.
In court on Thursday, the driver admitted to falsely reporting a drunk man in the building but he and the three others denied the rest of the charges.
The next hearing is scheduled for June 21.
