A two-day forum on the challenges of consumer product safety began in Dubai yesterday.
Officials said the topic is often neglected by the public and traders, placing many consumers at risk.
Eng Redha Salman, director of the public health and safety department at the Dubai Municipality, said the main challenges are related to violations in the storage and distribution of products, misuse, and the regulation of cosmetics and personal care products.
The second day of the forum will look at unifying regulations internationally and review product standards.
