Children's road deaths so far this year

A look at the traffic accidents that involved children so far this year.

January 8 - Two children, one eight months old and another aged 14, were killed in Ras al Khaimah when a car accident caused by a burst tyre led to the death of four Emirati family members

April 26 - A two-year-old Emirati boy died instantly on Shaikh Zayed Road in Umm al Qaiwain when the driver of the car that was carrying the child entered the motorway without checking for traffic and crashed into a 4x4

April 30 - Two children were killed and two injured when the car they were in overturned on the Dubai-Hatta road

May 23 - A father and his two children, a 10-year-old boy and four-year-old girl, were killed in Al Ain when a motorist driving in the opposite direction lost control of his vehicle

June 3 - A seven-month-old baby girl was killed when the car she was in crashed into a cement barrier in Palm Jumeirah. She reportedly was in her mother's lap in the front seat. The father was driving.
