ABU DHABI // Haze, poor visibility and rain are forecast for parts of the country Saturday as temperatures are expected to hit 50C.
The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology reports that convective clouds may develop over the eastern and southern areas, potentially leading to “some rainfall of different intensity” by this afternoon. Visibility could also be reduced due to blowing dust and sand over open areas.
Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are predicted to be “rough.”
Coastal highs will range from 39 C to 47 C, while in the interior the mercury is expected to climb up to 50 C. Temperatures in the mountain region will range from highs or 34 C to 43 C.
The “hot to very hot,” hazy and sometimes rainy conditions for some parts of the country are expected through at least Monday, according to the NCMS.
