Jo Henderson will become the first Anglican priest to be ordained in the UAE, in a ceremony taking place today.

The 49-year-old female priest will be ordained at 10.30am at the capital's St Andrews Anglican Church in Al Mushrif.

"We are excited to welcome her as the first priest to be ordained in the UAE and it is with pride and pleasure that we, as her home church, can host her ordination," said Canon Andrew Thompson, the senior chaplain of St Andrew's Church.
