Cattle trader 'did not know' camels he bought were stolen from Sheikh Hazza

A verdict in the case will be announced on Tuesday.

A man accused of possessing two camels stolen from Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed's farm said in court yesterday that he bought them for Dh8,000, not realising they were stolen.

RM, an illegal immigrant cattle trader, told the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance that he bought the camels from MS.

To laughter from the judge, he said Dh8,000 was "the usual price of camels". MS denied ever having met RM.

A verdict will be announced on Tuesday.
