SHIMLA //At least 28 people were killed when an overcrowded bus plunged into a gorge in northern India.
Five others were injured and many were missing, police said yesterday.
The bus, which was carrying more than 45 passengers – many of them on the roof – veered off the road in a sparsely populated and hilly area of Himachal Pradesh state on Monday night.
A passenger said the driver lost control of the vehicle on a sharp bend near the scenic Kangra valley.
The roads in the area are treacherous and known for zigzag turns.
