DUBAI // Two people were injured yesterday after a bus carrying construction workers caught fire at an Enoc petrol station in Dubai.

"We followed our emergency rescue plan, contacting the civil defence authorities and our emergency assistance line and closing the flow of fuels from the tanks immediately," an Enoc statement said.

The company said two people sustained minor injuries and one was admitted to hospital but released later on in the day.

The petrol station, in the Al Khawaneej area of the emirate, will remain closed while restoration work is carried out and an enquiry completed.

"We are conducting a detailed investigation along with the concerned authorities," the statement said. "The extent of the damage caused is also being evaluated.

"We are thankful to the Dubai Civil Defence team for their prompt response and assistance."
