DUBAI // A British curriculum school will soon be part of the landscape of Dubailand.

Safa British Academy near Al Barsha South 3 is expected to be fully operational by September 2014.

The academy will offer an internationally recognised curriculum from foundation year to year 13, taught by British-trained teachers.

A plot of 35, 806sq metres has been allocated for the development of the school.

And it will be accessible to all Dubailand communities including residents of Layan, The Villa, Motor City and the newly re-launched Mudon Townhouse family community.

According to an agreement between Dubailand and Safa Private School, this will add to the existing residential amenities - retail outlets, health clinics and nurseries - offered to Dubailand's 100,000 residents.

It will feature state-of-the-art facilities, such as innovative learning studios, outdoor learning decks, a global learning centre that houses a 500-seat auditorium and a Black Box Theatre with audio-video studios.

Sports facilities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool as well as a training pool, two tennis courts, indoor cricket facilities and a Fifa-specified astroturf football pitch.

It will initially open for students in foundation year to year 9 in September next year.

Subsequent grades will be added progressively.

Amenities in Dubailand include Dubai Sports City, Global Village, MotorCity, Miracle Garden, Dubai Autodrome, Dubai Outlet Mall and Al Sahra Desert Resort Equestrian Centre.
