A boy drowned in the swimming pool of a hotel villa in Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday.
The incident was reported, at 7pm, to police who dispatched a patrol and ambulance.
The 3-year-old boy, of Arab origin, could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
Police did not disclose which hotel the boy was staying at or how the boy came to drown.
The case was handed over to prosecutors for legal proceedings.
