Boy, 6, saved from drowning in hotel pool
UMM AL QUWAIN // A six-year-old Indian boy was saved from drowning in a hotel pool in Umm Al Quwain on Saturday morning.
Police were alerted at about 9.45am and arrived in less than five minutes to help resuscitate the child and transfer him to UAQ Hospital for further treatment.
Maj Hassan Ali bin Sullam, the director of UAQ Civil Defence, said the parents of the boy were at the swimming pool but did not know what to do when their son began drowning. Maj bin Sullam urged all parents to always keep a watchful eye on swimming children, whether in the sea or swimming pools.
