Boy, 2, drowns in family pool in Al Ain

Police say the boy was unsupervised are calling for all pools to be fenced

A toddler drowned in a family pool in Al Ain, police revealed on Thursday.

Abu Dhabi Police said the two-year-old boy fell into the pool at his parents' home in Jabal Hafeet area, while unattended, and drowned.

Further details were not released by police who called on families to ensure children are supervisd at all times.

Police also called for fences to be installed around pools to avoid such incidents.

Last month, twin Emirati boys drowned in the swimming pool of their neighbour's villa in Ras Al Khaimah.

The pair had been riding their bicycles in the evening and fell into the pool. They were found dead an hour after they were reported missing.
