ABU DHABI // Some of the biggest up and coming names in Bollywood are taking to the red carpet in Abu Dhabi tonight in a star-studded world premiere of the film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

Katrina Kaif, one of the biggest-banking female stars in the Indian film industry, will be joined at Marina Mall by her co-stars, Imran Khan and the singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar.

The romantic comedy from Yash Raj Films, which translates as My Brother's Bride, is set in London and northern India, where Khan's character Kush searches for the ideal bride for his brother Luv.

The director Ali Abbas Zafar said he decided to stage the premiere in the UAE capital ahead of its Indian release because of the burgeoning appetite for Indian cinema in the Middle East.

"Yash Raj Films is opening up to new markets and we want to start something new here," he said. Kaif said she had filmed in the UAE on two previous projects, adding: "I have always thought it is such an amazing, beautiful place."
