ABU DHABI// Do you have an opinion on the island's beaches? Now's your chance to air it.

Suggestions and complaints boxes have been installed along the Corniche, with brochures asking visitors what they think about the beach and how it could be better.

"Definitely, we need to improve our services," said Faisal Al Ameri, a senior supervisor in the municipality's beaches section.

Staff installed the 14 boxes about a week ago. The municipality plans to distribute and gather 10,000 brochures through the boxes.

The handouts ask about the quality of beach facilities, security, lifeguards, cleanliness, swimming times and other topics.

"We need to see the value of our services, where are the areas in which we can improve our services," Mr Ameri said.

The brochures - in Arabic and English - are available at Gates one to six along the Corniche beach, and near the beach restaurants.

The municipality plans to implement two to three suggestions from visitors once they analyse the responses.

"Based on that we can put a plan to improve the area," Mr Ameri said. "These are critical things for us."

Comment boxes will also be installed at Al Bateen beach in the next year.
