An auto repair shop worker has been accused of molesting a policewoman who wanted him to change the tenting on the windows of her vehicle.
The shop worker, 35, from Iran, asked the woman to take her car into an underground car park when the woman visited the shop on June 13 last year.
After she opened the door to get out of her vehicle, the man stood in her way.
"I asked him to move, but he came closer and touched my left shoulder," said the Emirati policewoman, 23.
She told prosecutors that even after pushing the man's arm away from her shoulder, he drew closer to her, kissed her on the left cheek and touched her thigh.
She pushed him away and closed the door of her vehicle, but when she tried to drive out of the car park, he stood in the way of her car and asked that they talk.
"I lowered my window a little and told him that I no longer wished to change the tenting and that I wanted to leave. Once I left, I called police," she said.
A police patrol arrived at the workshop in Al Qouz, Dubai, where CCTV recordings showed the man blocking the policewoman's way.
The man was arrested and during questioning denied that he had sexually assaulted her.
A verdict is expected on January 29.
