Annual Arab Future Cities Summit gets under way in Dubai

Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, on Monday opened the 4th Annual Arab Future Cities Summit.

The two-day summit is organised by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme in partnership with Expotrade Middle East, and is being held at the Sofitel The Palm Resort, Dubai.

The summit will welcome more than 600 participants, 40 international experts and over 20 specialised events in the same field and will provide a unique opportunity for the future cities and housing sector to enhance employment opportunities and learn about global best practices by meeting leaders and decision-makers, news agency Wam reported.

The Annual Arab Future Cities Summit will emphasise on the future opportunities and evolving technologies to counter the challenges faced and achieve the city’s ambitions in being one of the world’s most connected and sustainable 'Smart Cities', in time for Expo 2020.
