Al Ain Municipality said 788 cases of destruction or vandalism were reported in the city's public parks between the start of last year and last month.
Vandalism included damage to benches, swings, gazebos, water fountains and cables. Graffiti and littering were also cited.
The municipality has launched "A Prettier Al Ain" to try to preserve the city. "We hope that this campaign will help reduce, if only in part, some of the behaviour that calls for this kind of campaign in the first place," said Salem Al Jabri, the head of maintenance at the municipality.
