ABU DHABI // A mother and her 4-year-old daughter were airlifted to hospital along with their driver after the car they were travelling in overturned in the Boukriya area of Al Ain.

The car was travelling west at high speed when the driver lost control and crashed into a lamp post at around 10.45am yesterday, police said.

Major Salah Abdullah Al Humairi, head of traffic division in Al Ain, said the vehicle rolled 25 metres before coming to a stop.

The mother, a 31-year-old Gulf national, her Emirati daughter, and their 38-year-old Asian driver were taken by Abu Dhabi Police Air Ambulance to Tawam Hospital.

The mother was admitted to ICU while the child required surgery. The driver received some treatment but was ready to be discharged later that day.
