AJMAN // Ten high school graduates have had their applications to the Ajman Municipality scholarship programme approved.
The civic body has received only 26 applications to its programme, which offers to pay the tuition of young Emiratis looking to pursue degrees in civil engineering, architecture, urban planning, mechanical engineering, agricultural science, statistics, food safety or environmental safety.
The civic body launched the programme as part of its strategy to train Emiratis and emiratise some of its important jobs.
Applicants must have a minimum score of 80 per cent in their grade 12 results, pass an interview, pledge to work for the municipality for a set time after obtaining the degree, have a police clearance certificate and be medically fit.
