Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed attends signing ceremony
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and President of Emirates Red Crescent, attended a signing ceremony on Friday where a partnership was agreed with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
Adnoc Group said that the agreement “represents our dedication to supporting humanitarian efforts” following the ceremony, held on Zayed Humanitarian Day.
“In line with our leadership’s guidance and the Year of Tolerance, we’re pleased to sign this agreement with Emirates Red Crescent to emphasize the importance of humanitarian co-operation, both in the UAE and beyond,” said Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and Adnoc Group chief executive, after signing the agreement.
On Thursday the UAE launched a major campaign to help support hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees forced to flee Myanmar.
Zayed Humanitarian Day
The nationwide drive aims to assist those from the minority Muslim group who now find themselves in camps in India, Bangladesh and elsewhere.
Under the initiative, organisers hope to provide education, food, health services, sanitation and shelter for some of the more than 1.2 million people.
