The Middle East-North African rights holder will show matches on subscription-based television packages and streaming via the internet.
ADMC to air English Premier League
ABU DHABI // English Premier League matches next season will be shown exclusively on Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya Channels, a subscription-based television package that can be accessed with a set-top box, and through two internet platforms, the Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) announced today. ADMC, which owns The National, has exclusive rights to show Premier League matches in the Middle East-North Africa region beginning next season. In addition to the Al Riyadiya high-definition television platform, the matches will also be available on streaming video via broadband internet, and on IPTV (internet protocol television). "Consumers want options to access content on different platforms," said Ricky Ghai, the executive director of digital media at ADMC. "The challenge for us is to continue to innovate and deliver options that address the needs of our audience." The cost of subscriptions and distribution and installment details are not yet available. ADMC said the pricing structure would be announced before the start of the 2010/2011 season. The company also said it is in the process of confirming details with major retailers for set-box distribution.
