Abu Dhabi // A private tutor giving a tutoring session in maths to two sisters, aged 8 and 13, kissed them on the mouth and fondled the leg of the elder sister, police claimed yesterday.

The man, who police named as Abu Mazen, 58, an Egyptian, then fled and went into hiding, said police.

Lt Col Jumaa Al Kaabi, of Abu Dhabi CID, claimed that he had been deported a year ago for child molestation, but had returned illegally, and found someone to help him work and hide for a year.

Lt Col Al Kaabi said police were notified by an Australian father this month that after seeing a newspaper advert he assigned the tutor to teach his daughters maths, but while teaching them he sexually abused them.

The father said that he received an urgent call from his wife telling him to return home. The tutor had just left when the father returned, and his wife alleged the suspect had abused the girls.

Abu Dhabi Police arrested the man in the Mohammed bin Zayed City area a few days after the alleged incident. While detained, the man tried to impersonate a friend by showing police a copy of the other man’s ID card, police said.

He faces charges of child molestation, illegal immigration and impersonation.
