Abu Dhabi resident grabs goods worth Dh5,000 in supermarket sweep
ABU DHABI // An Abu Dhabi resident managed to grab goods worth almost Dh5,000 in a two-minute supermarket sweep on Monday.
Jacqueline Platt bid most for the supermarket sweep voucher at Abela supermarket in Ettihad Plaza earlier this year at a Jack O'Donnell foundation charity event. The money went towards the foundation in England which helps potential athletes purchase sports equipment and accomplish their dreams – while Ms Platt ended up with Dh4,937 worth of shopping.
Ms Platt, the managing director of Pink Properties, first headed for the chocolates, then to the other side of the store to grab a turkey and other poultry. "After that I was just taking things off the shelf!" she said. "I picked up dog food and comfort softener at some point. I can only remember about 10 of the [many] items that I got."
