ABU DHABI // Leaders in marketing, advertising and communications are to visit the capital early next year as part of an international gathering.

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Abu Dhabi Media, the organisation that publishes The National, and the International Advertising Association (IAA), for Abu Dhabi to host the IAA’s 44th World Congress.

The event will attract more than 1,200 delegates.

The MoU was signed by Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, chairman and managing director of ADM, and Faris Abouhamad, IAA president, chairman and world president, and president of Interone Resonance Middle East.

Mr Al Mahmood said: “We are delighted to host the 44th edition of the IAA World Congress, which brings together leaders in the marketing, advertising and communications industry to facilitate knowledge transfer and best practice exchange.

“This is affirmation of not just Abu Dhabi’s position as a global business hub and investment destination, but its emergence as a regional centre of excellence in content creation and media.”

Mr Abouhamad said: “As a leading force in media and a growing industry centre in the region, Abu Dhabi is ideally situated.

“The World Congress has always been a forum that brings together the most influential minds in advertising to discuss our industry’s most pressing issues.”
