Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed thanks team in person
The organisers of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week have been thanked in person by the Crown Prince after hosting an event that attracted tens of thousands of delegates and visitors.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met with personnel that were responsible for hosting the event at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Among those pictured with the Crown Prince was Alia Al Mansouri, the Emirati teenager whose Genes in Space experiment was sent to the International Space Station for testing.
The International Renewable Energy Agency's General Assembly on January 13 and 14, the Zayed Future Energy Prize on January 15 and the World Future Energy Summit on January 16 and 17 were attended by global experts and thinkers in their fields, and attracted media coverage at home and abroad.
The UAE Research Programme for Rain Enhancement Science, also held during ADSW, saw three pioneering researchers win a $5 million grant for their work in rain enhancement.
The programme was launched in 2015 by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs, to tackle the issue of water security.
He said the award "demonstrates our leadership in tackling the challenge of global water stress and devising the innovative solutions needed to aid people at risk around the world".
