The Abu Dhabi municipality has issued seven warnings for labour accommodation in breach of health and safety regulations.
The inspection campaign began in early 2018 and is ongoing.
A total of 15 sites in Rawdat, Al Reef, Al Jarf, Sih Sdeira, Samaha and Old Shahama were visited to ensure that temporary accommodation met safety and hygiene standards and guaranteed workers’ rights.
Inspectors reviewed tenancy contracts, worker safety, food quality, kitchens and recreation halls, accommodation safety, and emergency procedures.
Violations included poor safety and security measures and the operation of an unlicensed barber shop.
