The roads, which were closed for construction work on a new tunnel system, have been reopened ahead of schedule.
Abu Dhabi airport reopens roads outside terminals
ABU DHABI // Access roads outside Abu Dhabi International Airport were re-opened today, allowing travellers departing from Terminals 1 and 3 direct access to their departure zones.
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) had previously said the access routes would be diverted for 60 days but the construction project was completed 10 days ahead of schedule.
The roads were temporarily closed to allow for the construction of new travellers' tunnel and an expanded arrivals hall.
Once completed, the tunnel will put travellers arriving in the capital within 20 metres of parking, taxis and limousine services, as opposed to the current distance of 140 metres.
