ABU DHABI // Patients in rural areas will have access to specialists as part of the Absher Doctors programme next month.

The specialists will be available for consultations at Al Hayer, Al Quaa, Sweihan and Mazyad Healthcare Centres.

Areas covered include cardiology, dermatology, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthodontics, dental implants and ear, nose and throat.

Consultations run from September 8 to 11 at Al Hayer, September 8 and 9 at Al Quaa, and September 10 and 11 at Sweihan and Mazyad.

This is the seventh time the Absher Doctors programme has been conducted this year.

Run by Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS) to reach patients in remote areas, it has helped 1,403 people since its launch last year.

Between June and July this year, 273 patients visited the clinics.

"We are keen to deliver outstanding services across the emirate in the coming month as part of our priority to promote well-being in the community at large, particularly in the remote and rural areas," said Mohamed Hawas, acting chief executive of AHS.
