76 Al Ain drivers get licences revoked

Police confiscated licenses that had exceeded the 24 black point limit.

AL AIN // Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Department revoked 76 driver licences last month and cancelled two others. Maj Salah Abdullah Al Humairi, the department chief, said drivers would have their licenses removed after amassing 24 black points - most of which are the result of speeding.

In February, Al Ain traffic police impounded 489 vehicles and revoked 90 driving licences.

The department is also installing 57 new radars along its internal roads and motorways this year as part of efforts to improve the city's traffic safety record.
