More than 12,000 tonnes of construction waste have been removed from Al Ain as part of a beautification drive by the municipality.
The campaign "My Beautiful City" involved three stages, according to Huzam Abdullah Al Daheri, head of solid waste at the Public Health Department.
During the first stage a field survey identified problem areas, in the second stage an action plan was agreed, and in the third stage 831 loads of waste, weighing 12,413 tonnes, were removed.
Mohamed Hashim, head of services and emergencies at Al Ain municipality, urged the public to report individuals and companies found dumping waste by calling 993.
