Day two of New York Fashion Week kicked off with Jason Wu’s autumn/winter 2015 collection.

The designer, who has worked hard over the past few years to distance his aesthetic from his original Park Avenue princess collections, continued to rebel with strong references to sportswear.

No matter how sports-inspired Wu’s collections are, they still hold a certain level of luxury that his clients have grown accustomed to - think double-faced cashmere coats, plush fur linings and exquisite tailoring.

In the evening, Emirati designer Fatema Fardan showcased her second collection at Voce Di gallery in Soho.

The event was hosted by Julia Restoin-Roitfeld with music by The Misshapes.

As the first Emirati designer to show in New York, Fardan had very big shoes to fill.

Her folklore-inspired pieces grabbed the attention of mega-stylist, Rachel Zoe, who came by the event to view Fardan’s designs.

With a vertical wall of flowers, the venue was transformed from an industrial space to an oasis in the middle of the city.

Day three took me uptown to the Lincoln Centre for Lacoste’s early morning show.

Designer, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, was inspired by the label’s founder, René Lacoste’s, story for this season.

The preppy, tennis match-ready separates looked straight off the set of The Royal Tenenbaums - crisp suits with buttoned up polo shirts and striped sweatbands for the men and “René” emblazoned matching tracksuits with luxe camel coats for women.

Looking like the high school sports team, the models all came out together at the end of the show:

Immediately after was Noon by Noor, the Bahraini label designed by Sheikhas Haya and Noor Al Khalifa.

The designers worked with a subdued palette of grey, silver white and lavender for their sixth collection.

The pieces ranged from laser cut architectural dresses to full-length chiffon gowns dusted with heavy embroidery.

Olivia Palermo, Coco Rocha and Leigh Lazark were some of the front rowers at the show.
