Young guns down Everton in injury time
Two-goal Ashley Young hailed Aston Villa's 3-2 victory as 'brilliant' after an entertaining game at Everton. Steve Sidwell had given Villa the lead after just 34 seconds, only for Joleon Lescott to put Everton level by the break. Phil Jagielka's shocking back-pass gave Young the chance to put Villa ahead again, before Lescott's injury-time equaliser looked to have given Everton a point. But 60 seconds later, Young broke clear to guide home the winner and leave Everton shattered. The result moves Villa back up to fifth in the Barclays Premier League and Young told Sky Sports: "It's a brilliant victory. "I had an opportunity in the second half that I should have taken, so to win the game at the death shows the character of the boys in our squad. "We defended brilliantly today and go to the final whistle. It's a brilliant feeling to get a goal at the death." Villa central defender Martin Laursen continued: "We battled and at the end we deserved the three points. "Our strength is we never give up ? that's a perfect example today. The Dane added: "We always think we can win a game, even when we go behind. Today was something unbelievable."
