Wigan stun Chelsea
The Premier League's only 100 per cent record came to a shock end as Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea went down at the DW Stadium. Roberto Martinez's Wigan opened the scoring after 16 minutes when Titus Bramble took advantage of poor defending to head a cross from Charles N'Zogbia past Petr Cech. Wigan thoroughly deserved the lead and only last-ditch defending denied them a second against a listless Chelsea before the break. However, an error from the Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland allowed Didier Drogba to equalise with his 100th goal for Chelsea shortly after half-time. The London club had come from behind to win three league matches this season, but any thoughts of a repeat were dashed on 53 minutes when Cech was sent off for bringing down Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega. The Colombian scored the penalty past substitute Hilario. Paul Scharner added a third late on as Wigan held on. Man of the match: Titus Bramble (Wigan)
