Wayne Bridge set for move to West Ham
Wayne Bridge, the Manchester City left-back, is on the verge of a move to West Ham United. Bridge has also been linked with a switch to Aston Villa, but is due to have a medical at West Ham, according to The Guardian, before joining on loan until the end of the season. Bridge has fallen down the pecking order at City with Aleksandar Kolarov, a summer signing from Lazio, and Pablo Zabaleta ahead of him. West Ham have moved for Bridge because their only specialist left-back, Herita Ilunga, is out with an injury. Avram Grant, the manager, has had to use the likes of Tal Ben Haim, a centre-back, Jonathan Spector, a right-back, and left winger Luis Boa Morte, to fill that position.
