Fabrizio Miccoli's move to the Pro League looks to be back on after his agent confirmed talks are ongoing for a switch to Dubai.
The 33-year-old forward will become a free agent this weekend after his contract expires at Palermo.
He had previously been linked with a move to UAE Pro League side Al Nasr, coached by former Italy goalkeeper Walter Zenga.
Miccoli had been earmarked by Zenga as a replacement for Luca Toni, who was released by the club at the end of last season following a disappointing spell since his move to Dubai in January.
Zenga, who has also been linked with a move for Guiseppe Mascara, managed Miccoli at Palermo in 2009
"There is nothing official yet but there is an ongoing negotiation for Miccoli to move to Dubai," Miccoli's agent Francesco Caliandro told Sport Italia.

New Blues boss Lee Clark admitted yesterday that negotiations are "ongoing" with Albion regarding Foster.
Cologne keeper Michael Rensing is also on the list of possible contenders being targeted by the Baggies, but Foster remains their number one choice after his outstanding form when on loan from Birmingham last season.
He played a major role in West Brom finishing in the top 10 of the English Premier League and was voted the club's player of the year.
Foster was linked strongly with a move to QPR before they signed Robert Green from West Ham, but the former Manchester United keeper has often made it clear he would be happy to remain at the Hawthorns.
Rensing will only come into the equation if attempts to sign Foster fall through.

Jamie Ness looks set to lead the exodus of players leaving stricken Scottish side Rangers after Stoke City closed in on a deal for the player.
Ness is one of ten players who have refused to join the newco club created to take the place of the former Scottish giants, who are being placed in liquidation.
The 21-year-old made an impressive start to his career at Rangers after scoring on his debut against Old Firm rivals Celtic in January last year, before injuries stalled his progress at the club.
But the player is reported to have passed a medical at Stoke City ahead of a move across the border.
Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, John Fleck, Juan Manuel Ortiz, Kyle Lafferty, Rhys McCabe, Sone Aluko, Steven Naismith and Steven Whittaker have also said they will quit the club for nothing after objecting to the transfer of their contracts.
