Bordeaux have rejected a bid from Newcastle United for Yoan Gouffran, according to reports in France.

The English Premier League side are believed to have offered 750,000 euros to for the 26-year-old forward, who has scored 10 goals in 22 games.

However, French media reports claim the Ligue 1 side has rejected the offer, valuing the former France under-21 international at one million euros (Dh4.9m).

Alan Pardew's side are still searching for a replacement for Demba Ba following his move to Chelsea earlier this month, with Gouffran - who only has six months of his contract at Bordeaux left - thought to fit the bill.

Stuttgart could be set to move for Manchester United forward Federico Macheda after the Italian failed to force his way into Sir Alex Ferguson's reckoning.

The Bundesliga side confirmed the 21-year-old was on their list of January targets after watching him on loan spells with Sampdoria and Queens Park Rangers.

Stuttgart's 2-0 defeat to Wolfsburg at the weekend underlined their need for a striker with top scorer Vedad Ibisevic suspended and his replacement Shinji Okazaki failing to impress.

Now Stuttgart are looking to make a deal with the English Premier League leaders

"We have been watching him for a while now," Bobic told the Stuttgart Nachrichten newspaper.

"He is one of the players we have on our shortlist. "We know how very important Vedo is for us, but we are not dependent on him."

Al Shaab have signed Portuguese midfielder Filipe Teixeira and Zimbabwe international Noel Kaseke after releasing Brazilian duo Rodrigo Vergilio and Rodrigo Souza Silva.  Get the full story here.

France midfielder Yann M'Vila looks likely to snub a move to England in favour of a switch to the Russian Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers have been tracking the 22-year-old Rennes player, with the latter having already signed his international teammate Loic Remy.

However, reports from France indicate former Russian champions Rubin Kazan are now the favourites to sign the player, with a deal likely before the transfer window closes next week.

Wesley Sneijder will complete his move to Galatasaray today after heading to Istanbul for a medical.

The Inter Milan outcast is due in Turkey this evening to complete his switch to the Super Lig side after the player confirmed on the club's website he had agreed a EU7.5m (Dh36.7m) move.

The Super Lig club yesterday released a statement which read: "The transfer of Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan has been agreed.

"The conditions of the deal will be made public and the player will sign the contract after health checks."
