Ibrahima Toure took his tally to nine goals in all competitions this term as Pro League newcomers Ajman held Al Wasl to a 1-1 draw at home to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

The tall Senegalese striker struck the equaliser with a neat chip over Waleed Salem, the UAE international goalkeeper, after the visitors had taken the lead through Rashid Essa with 10 minutes on the clock.

The promoted Ajman have been a revelation so far this season, with Abdul Wahab Abdul Kader's side punching above their weight and proving a match for any team.

Toure's third goal in as many Pro League games helped salvage Ajman's third draw in as many league matches, while they also top Etisalat Cup Group B on 10 points from four games.

However, they found themselves trailing in the opening exchanges after Essa nodded home a Juan Manuel Olivera cross for Wasl, who began the match at the top of the table.

But the lead was short lived as Toure beat the offside trap and elegantly chipped the ball over the charging Wasl goalkeeper.

Edinho's brace secured Sharjah their first win in the Pro League last night, but their 2-1 victory over Emirates in Ras Al Khaimah was marred by the sending off of Shahin Abdulrahman in injury time.

The Brazilian gave the visitors an an early lead and then rounded off the scoring with 18 minutes left after Mohammed Ali Omar had levelled just after the hour mark.

The win takes Sharjah's points tally this season to four.

There campaign had got off to the worst possible start when they were beaten 3-0 by Al Wasl, before a vastly improved performance in their second match saw them hold Al Jazira, the Pro League champions, to a 2-2 draw.

In contrast, it was the second defeat in succesion for Emirates, who last week were on the wrong end of the 2-0 result against Al Ahli.
