Venus Williams displayed all her trademark power to blast her way through her Wimbledon quarter-final tie against Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska. Williams, with her left leg heavily strapped, has vowed to battle through the pain in her quest to become the first woman since Germany's Steffi Graf to win three successive Wimbledon titles. It was Radwanska's first Wimbledon quarter-final and the nerves showed as she lost consecutive service games. The loudest cheer came when she finally got her side of the scoreboard ticking in the sixth game but with Williams serving 120mph aces, the set went by in 27 minutes with the reigning champion taking it 6-1. Williams's game took a dip at the start of the second set and she lost her first service game to love, throwing in a double fault on game point. Radwanska, who last year became the first Polish woman to hold a place in the women's top 10, was also beginning to move better and show glimpses of her true ability. The match at last was a contest but Williams won a pivotal fifth game when she broke the Radwanska serve following an enjoyable exchange of volleys. From then on Williams's power took over and she eventually triumphed 6-1, 6-2 in one hour and eight minutes to take her place in the semi-finals.
