Storm bring in trio for next season
Melbourne Storm announced new signings yesterday as they look to rebuild in the wake of a salary cap scandal that decimated their playing ranks. They announced that experienced props Adam Woolnough and Troy Thompson, along with young New Zealand Warriors winger Elijah Niko would all be in their squad next year. The Storm have also re-signed Dane Nielsen, Bryan Norrie, Justin O'Neill and Rory Kostjasyn, while Luke Kelly and Robbie Rochow have extended their contracts until the end of 2011.
Meanwhile Brett Kimmorley, the former Australia Test scrum-half is to retire at the end of this National Rugby League season after playing for 16 years.
Kimmorley, who turns 34 next month, said he had accepted an assistant coaching role with his current club Canterbury Bulldogs "I knew that the opportunity to start a coaching career at a club like Canterbury does not come around every day."
