Koo Ja-cheol struck either side of half time to help South Korea pick up three points in their Group C match against Bahrain.

The South Koreans looked to be winning comfortably until a converted penalty from Faouzi Aaish made for some anxious final minutes.

South Korea took the lead when Koo's shot took a deflection off Abdulla al Marzooqi and looped into the net.

Following the interval, Koo made it two with a simple tap-in. But Bahrain got a goal back from the spot after Kwak Tae-hwi was sent off for pulling Abdulla al Dakeel, but Aaish's penalty was not enough for a point.
