Sheikh Juma bin Dalmook Al Maktoum won a bronze medal for the UAE in the double trap at the Asian Games on Thursday.
In the 27-man morning qualification session, Sheikh Juma shot 139 from his five rounds, to leave him second only to Kuwait’s Fehaid Al Deehani.
The UAE’s Saif Al Shamsi was 10th, with 133, and Khaled Al Kaabi, further back in 22nd.
The top six shooters qualified for the semi-final stages, where Sheikh Juma was just one shot off making the final. He finished with 28 points, leaving him to contend the bronze medal match.
Al Deehani was one shot ahead in second while China’s Binyuan Hu shot a perfect round of 30 and would also go on to win gold.
In the bronze-medal match, Sheikh Juma shot 29 to beat Qatar’s Rashid Al Athba and add to the silver medal he won in Guangzhou four years ago.
