Henrik Sedin scores twice in the final period to help the Vancouver Canucks reel off another home victory with a 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Friday. The win was the Canucks' eighth consecutive on their home ice, with Sedin's double breaking a 2-2 tie in the final period to see them home. Alexander Burrows and Mats Sundin had scored earlier for the Canucks as they went two ahead, while Alexander Frolov and Anze Kopitar scored the Kings goals to level things up before Sedin took centre stage.

The win keeps the Canucks in fifth place in a tight race for a play-off spot in the Western Conference, one point ahead of the Columbus Blue Jackets, who in the night's other game recorded their fourth straight victory with a 5-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Antoine Vermette scored twice and Kristian Huselius, Raffi Torres and Rick Nash also weighed in with one apiece for the Blue Jackets.
