Algeria's football federation have denied reports that coach Rabah Saadane is to resign on the eve of the African Cup of Nations.

Algeria's football federation have denied reports that coach Rabah Saadane is to resign on the eve of the African Cup of Nations. "We are anxious to reassure the public that an excellent mood reigns in the squad. No dissension exists between the coach and the players," said the federation.

Valencia winger Joaquin is expecting a tough encounter when his side face Deportivo La Coruna in the first leg of their Copa del Rey fifth round tie tonight. "They close a lot defensively. Depor are very difficult opponents and we should try to open up the wings. It will be a hotly contested game," he said.

Napoli fans plan to collect enough money to buy Diego Maradona's earring, which was confiscated by Italian authorities in September as part payment for his tax arrears.
