Al Nasr have signed the Brazilian Claudio Rena from the Saudi club Al Shabab in place of their Iranian striker Reza Enayati, who has been sacked after not getting on well with the club's new German coach Frank Pagelsdorf. Rena, who cost $US250,000 (Dh920,00), will get his first taste of the Pro League when Nasr face the joint leaders Al Ahli on Sunday. The Brazilian joins the club's two remaining Iranians, Mehrazad Madanchi and Mohammad Nosrati, to complete their foreigner quota. Nasr are eighth in the 12-team Pro League table. Meanwhile, the Emirati players Khalid Darwish and Khalaf Ismail, both midfielders, have left Al Wasl to join the defending champions Al Shabab on loan with just four days left in the mid-season transfer window. Shabab are going through a real crisis and their Brazilian coach Toninho Cerezo, who led them to the league last season, has already come under fire. They are second last in the points standings and only three points in front of the two basement teams, Al Khaleej and Al Shaab, who they play on Sunday in a crucial game for both teams. apassela@thenational.ae
