Sunrisers Hyderabad 146/8 (20/20 ov)

Delhi Daredevils 150/3 (18.1/20 ov)

Delhi Daredevils won by 7 wickets (with 11 balls remaining)

Quinton de Kock hit a masterful 44 off 31 balls as Delhi Daredevils defeated table-topping Sunrisers Hyderabad and moved back into the Indian Premier League play-off positions at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal.

The South African opener lost his partner Mayank Agarwal for just 10 runs when he was caught by Yuvraj Singh off a Nehra delivery.

But Karun Nair, in at three, filled the void as Delhi comfortably chased down their target of 147 with 11 balls remaining.

Earlier, having been put into bat by Delhi captain Zaheer Khan, Hyderabad's David Warner fell just short of his fifty, while Sikhar Dhawan (34) and Kane Williamson (27) both contributed to their total of 146 for eight.

Delhi looked like they were in a hurry to finish things off but hit a stumbling block when Moises Henriques clean-bowled Nair on 20.

Sanju Samson was the next man in but had no time to form a partnership with his fellow batsman as De Kock was on his way back to the pavilion only three balls later as Henriques struck again.

De Kock got the slightest of edges to wicketkeeper Naman Ohja and umpire Marais Erasmus took an age before finally raising his finger, much to Henriques’s delight.

The cheers ended for Hyderabad there, however, as Samson and Rishabh Pant saw Delhi safely home, the former finishing things off with a six.

“We were 20-30 runs short,” Warner told Star Sports in the post-match interview.

“The bowlers hit a good length, but our batters did not get the job done today.”

Delhi’s JP Duminy said: “The back part of our bowling innings, we did exceptionally well.

“We are always banking on them to strike for us. It was a collective bowling performance.

“The guys have been responding well, understanding the XI.

“The youngsters have been performing, they have been responding well in pressure moments.”
