Baniyas record a five star performance against Dubai, but struggling Dibba and Kalba make Al Shaab and Al Wahda work for their wins.
Pro League round-up: Al Wahda hold on against Kalba
Al Wahda: Djulbic 17', 40'
Kalba: Deeb 29' (pen)
Al Wahda managed to grind out a vital 2-1 victory at their Al Nahyan Stadium against struggling side Kalba, despite being reduced to 10 men after only 26 minutes. Dino Djulbic, the Bosnian-Australian defender, right, opened the scoring for the home side before Hamdan Al Kamali was given a straight red card. Kalba then immediately levelled from the penalty spot before Djulbic grabbed the winner.
Al Shaab: Maatouk 29'
Hassan Maatouk's lone strike helped Al Shaab down Dibba Al Fujairah and move the team clear at the bottom of the Pro League table. The Lebanese midfielder put Michael N'dri's cross into the back of the net in the 29th minute and they held onto their advantage until the final whistle. The win takes Shaab's tally to 10 points, three clear of the bottom two - Dibba and Kalba - but they will face a tough test against Baniyas next week.
Baniyas: Wilhelmsson 10', Mubarak 17', Senghor 20', Aboutrika 72', Saleh 87'
Mohamed Aboutrika made it two goals from two matches as Baniyas kept pace with the league leaders in a rout of Dubai. The Egyptian national set off a noisy celebration among watching Egyptians when he fired in a free kick from 20 yards. Christian Wilhelmsson got his first goal since joining the club last month and Nawaf Mubarak, Andre Senghor and Haboush Saleh also scored.
