Al Wahda eased to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Dubai last night to help them put Saturday's defeat to Al Shabab behind them. UAE international Ismail Matar put the Abu Dhabi club on the winning path after just four minutes before a brace from Senegalese frontman Papa Waigo either side of the break ensured they took all three points back home to the capital, opening a five-point gap over Dubai in the table in seventh and eight place, respectively.

Baniyas tightened their grip on third place with a 3-1 win at Al Shaab. Nawaf Mubarak opened the scoring before Ali Rabea put the ball into his own net. Hassan Maatouk grabbed one back from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time, but Christian Wilhelmsson struck a third for the visitors. Al Shaab are locked on 10 points at the bottom of the table with Kalba and Dibba Al Fujairah.
